Moroccan Expedition route overview

The Route

Our Moroccan Expedition route takes us to new places, this really is a full packed trip.

Daily Driving and Timing

This is a full packed trip we will need to leave camp no later than 9am in the morning, we will stop regularly for breaks we will be trying to cover more ground than normal and will look for a camp around 5-6pm

Accommodation

We will be wild camping with the odd campsite every few days, .

Weather

In the north we travel through the Cedar forest heading to the middle Atlas mountains, here it is possible to experience snow in April, we do stay at the lower altitude's when camping but it can still be cold at night, as can the desert areas, please remember to bring clothes for cold climates as well as hot, it is likely to be warm in the daytime in the desert, with temperatures around the 28 deg's, but could be mid 30s also.

Vehicle Requirements

This trip is open to all high clearance 4x4 vehicles with a minimum of AT tires

Make sure your vehicle is fully checked, services and ready for the trip a few weeks beforehand, use it to iron out any issues before the trip starts, a simple issues can become a major issue stuck in the desert or high up on a mountain trail.

Probably one of the biggest areas people fail on, overloading your vehicles, only bring what you need, this trip cover's over 2700 miles with some harsh trails and sandy desert, minimal kit,

Each vehicle will require the following in addition to their normal camping equipment etc.

  • 1 recovery rope and shackles, recovery points front and rear
  • Food and water for minimum of 3 days.
  • Fuel cans or extended fuel tank for at least 200 off road miles, (mainly large petrol engined vehicle's, ie Jeep's)
  • An air compressor and tyre deflator is a good idea. we will need to deflate very low in the desert.
  • A full size Spare tire.

What is not included in the cost ?

Any Campsites, Hotels, Fuel, Food, Tolls, Ferry's etc all these costs need to be made by the client.

Due to being insured as a tour guide all our tours are priced for our customer to pay their own fee's as we only charge per vehicle, regardless of number of passengers giving greater flexibility to you.

If we included all costs we would be classed as a tour operator, this would greatly increase our insurance by about x10 hence meaning we would have to increase prices,
